Our high-tech approach is centered around leveraging modern digital tools, including advanced computer modeling and the analysis of vast sets of experimental data, to enhance the effectiveness and precision of our geological exploration techniques.

Terravox’s R&D activities are primarily focused on two main directions. The first involves the processing of extensive volumes of real field data collected using our proprietary measurement methods. This process is enhanced by the wide application of automation and big-data techniques, allowing for efficient data collection, preliminary analysis, and the final processing and visualization of results in both 2D and 3D formats. By utilizing these advanced methods, we ensure that our data is not only accurate but also comprehensively analyzed for optimal decision-making.

The second direction is focused on modeling the interaction of microseismic waves with geological formations and developing synthetic signals, which are crucial for the interpretation of field measurements using GEMS technology. This involves the application of modern numerical modeling techniques and parallel computing, utilizing high-performance computing clusters. Our approach to solving the direct problem involves multi-parameter modeling of the interactions between surface-type microseismic waves and geological inhomogeneities. This allows us to generate useful signals that can be used to determine the physical and geometric properties of geological formations, as well as their occurrence parameters.

Given the complexity and multi-parametric nature of these challenges, finding solutions for the entire range of shapes and physical properties of potential target objects is technically demanding. However, through the use of Terravox’s extensive database, built over years of calculations for numerous simple test objects, we have developed a powerful tool: an artificial neural network. This AI-based model is trained to rapidly generate synthetic signals for any geological inhomogeneity, regardless of its composite shape or the arbitrary values of its constituent rocks’ physical properties.
